5 Alternative Places You Can Watch the Honda Celebration of Light

If there is one festival that embodies summer in Vancouver, it is the annual Honda Celebration of Light. It is a fireworks competition that consists of a spectacular 25-minute pyro-musical performance that attracts up to 400,000 spectators to English Bay in Downtown Vancouver. Excitement ignites at 10:00pm for three evenings on July 26th, July 30th and August 2nd, with representation from the USA, France and Japan respectively.

Honda Canada is proud to sponsor the Celebration of Light, which was nominated to be the "Best Festival in Canada" in 2013. Since the inaugural event in 1990, this festival has become one of the most anticipated and largest off-shore fireworks competitions in the world among renowned attractions like live bands, food carts and concession stands. This year, additional activities will feature SHOREFEST, The Keg Lounge, YVR Observation Deck, Concord Pacific Seawall Challenge, and the Food Cart Festival. Here are 5 alternative places you can watch the Honda Celebration of Light show.

1. Vanier Park

Vanier Park is poised at the edge of English Bay, boasting a remarkable view of downtown Vancouver and Stanley Park. This park is famous for the Museum of Vancouver, the HR MacMillan Space Centre and the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival.

2. Kitsilano Beach

This is one of Vancouver's most popular beaches that include a fantastic Boathouse restaurant, heated outdoor pool, and an accessible playground. From this famous viewpoint, you are able to enjoy the Celebration of Light festival perfectly.

3. Burrard Bridge

This location may be least crowded since the festival is simply alongside the walkway of the Burrard Bridge, however, it is standing room only.

4. Dundarave Pier

Located at the West end of West Vancouver seawall, Dundarave Pier is another fantastic viewing point for families and small kids. It is a nice family beach with two playgrounds, swimming pool and a pier.

5. Boats on English Bay

Watching the Celebration of Light on a boat on English Bay is ideal. There are many Vancouver boat companies that offer great deals and packages for front seat viewings of the Celebration of Lights.

Kingsway Honda is proud of this extraordinary event sponsored by Honda Canada. For more information, you can visit the official Honda Celebration of Light website here: www.hondacelebrationoflight.com.
